The Dogs of Alta Plaza

2013 was quite a ride. It was my third year living in San Francisco and I’m happy knowing how many people I have encountered and the friends I have made but one thing I always seem to take for granted is how many Dogs I have met! This city truly lives up to the term, Dog Friendly. Dogs on Buses, Dogs in Cars, Dogs in the Mall and Dogs in Bars. You name the place and I’m sure dogs are allowed there. People here have such big hearts and they truly care for these animals, even the homeless in SF are taking care of Dogs. Big Dogs, Lean Dogs, Funny Dogs and Mean Dogs. I have never seen such an assortment of Dogs anywhere in my life and It’s always a joy going to any park and seeing them at play.

So here’s to all the Dogs in San Francisco. I hope you have a Happy New Year and I can’t wait to see all your cute faces in the years to come!

This is a just a glimpse of the incredible work that Young at Heart Pet Rescue achieves for homeless senior dogs and cats. For a population without a voice or a fighting chance, rescues like this are their only hope. Thank you to the participants for sharing their personal story about their beloved grey muzzles.
